April Showers is made possible by the efforts of volunteers who provide supervision, food, supplies, and clothing and by people who donate supplies and money to the program.

The Boys and Girls' Club of San Leandro provides

space for the April Showers event. 

In kind donations of new athletic socks, new tee shirts, new men's briefs, are always needed. We also need new personal grooming items such as  razors, toothbrushes, combs, aerosol deodorant, toothpaste and trial sizes (from hotels) of shampoo, soaps, lotions etc. Monetary donations are needed to support the program and purchase necessary items are vitally important. One hundred percent of all funds received are used for the homeless.

There is no overhead!  

Donations are tax deductible under section 501(c)3 of the US tax code.

The cost for each guest each time we open the April Showers Event is about $15, which covers shower supplies, food, take- away lunches, new clothing and other supplies. The cost is covered by donations of money and supplies such as soup or lunches and many other items from our volunteers and supporting organizations. We also receive donations from outside sources.
