Each week we open our doors for anyone who needs food to go
through the pantry, choosing items from each section: protein, dairy,
fruits & vegetables, bread, desserts.
The SLCFP operates at Bethel Community Church,
14235 Bancroft Avenue, San Leandro, CA 94578.
Regular Pick Up: Thursdays 5:30-8 p.m.
People can come anytime between 5:30-8 p.m. to pick up food.
If you can, it's best to come after 6:30 p.m. so the line is shorter.
The first time you come you should bring your ID. We will assist new guests in a quick registration process. We'll ask you for your name, address, how many adults and children are in your household, and a
few other questions. It's helpful to bring your own cart and/or bags to
carry your food.
Building Futures has actively worked with IHN/April Showers for more than ten years helping provide housing and outreach services to our guests. They provide folks with support, a place to sign up for housing through the Alameda County Coordinated Entry System, case management, and other on-going services to help end homelessness
in our area. In addition to being with us for our guests on the open Sundays, they also provide laundry service at a specific time and location, outreach events to various encampments and for folks living on the street, in cars and in RVs.
In early summer of 2025, they will be opening a daily drop-in center for those who are homeless. When opened, this Center will provide a solid meal, a place for a hot shower, limited laundry facilities, outreach workers and case management as well as a place to just be comfortable.
Building Futures has been instrumental helping many of those on the street, obtain housing, and re-integrate into a stable living situation.
